FDHS Sweepstakes Rules

SUMMARY: University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union (Sponsor or UKFCU) will award a monthly winner and a monthly runner-up to the UKFCU Frederick Douglass Sweepstakes (Sweepstakes) from November 2024 – April 2025. There will be one winner and one runner-up selected per calendar month. The winner will be awarded a prize worth up to $150 (the monthly prize will vary), with the runner-up winning a UKFCU-branded Stanley Tumbler. Participants need to enter their name and contact information on designated Sweepstakes postcards at the Frederick Douglass In-School Branch of UKFCU (In-School Branch) to be entered to win.

ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes begins on November 1, 2024 at 12:01 AM ET and ends on April 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET. The Sweepstakes is open any student of Frederick Douglass High School, excluding UKFCU Student Member Service Representative Interns and their immediate families (“family” is defined as siblings in this case). Once a participant has won the top prize, they will not be eligible for future prizes tied to the Sweepstakes. Runners-up prize winners are eligible to enter again.

TO ENTER: No purchase is necessary to enter. Participants will be entered in the contest after entering their name and contact information on one of the designated Sweepstakes postcards available from the In-School Branch. One entry per participant per month, November through April, excluding previous winners.

PRIZE DRAWING: One winner and one runner-up will be chosen from all eligible entries by no later than the 15th day of the following month, i.e. November’s winners will be selected no later than December 15th and so on. Winning individuals will be notified via the contact information (phone number or email) listed on the designated Sweepstakes postcard and the prizes will be made available to collect from the In-School Branch within five business days.

PRIZES: One winner and one runner-up prize per month from November 2024 to April 2025, totaling six winning prizes and six runner-up prizes, will be awarded for the Sweepstakes consisting of a prize worth up to $150 for the former and a UKFCU-branded Stanley Tumbler for the latter (valued at $58.75 in the event of Stanley Tumblers being unavailable). Prize will be awarded "AS IS." Sponsor makes no offer of and expressly disclaims to the maximum extent permitted by law any warranty or guarantee, either express or implied (including, without limitation, quality, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose) in connection with this Sweepstakes or any prizes. No manufacturer or representative of any offered prize is associated with or sponsoring the Sweepstakes. Federal, state, or local taxes on prizes, if any, and any other costs, fees or expenses not listed above are the sole responsibility of each winner. Funds may be considered 1099-MISC. NOTIFICATION: Winning individuals will be notified via the contact information (phone number or email) listed on the designated Sweepstakes postcard. 

EXCLUSIONS: UKFCU Student Member Service Representative Interns, or anyone who is not a current student of Frederick Douglass High School, are not eligible for entry and thus not eligible to win prizes.  

NO LIABILITY & INDEMNIFICATION: The contest is subject to all applicable and federal, state and local laws and regulations. Sponsor, and Sponsor Affiliates, are not responsible for, and entrants release each from, any failures of any kind in this Sweepstakes. Entrants further release and agree to indemnify Sponsor, and Sponsor Affiliates, from all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever alleged to arise from injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property in connection with this Sw­­eepstakes including, but not limited to: (a) the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded; (b) any travel or prize-related activity; (c) any typographical or other error in these Official Rules or any other materials disseminated by Sponsor; and (d) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers, or providers used by an entrant, Sponsor, or Sponsor Affiliates.

OTHER TERMS: Decisions of Sponsor on all matters related to the Sweepstakes are final. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes for any reason. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify or prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation or with any provision in these Official Rules.
